CILENTO

Cilento National Park

Parco Nazionale del Cilento e Vallo di Diano is the second largest park in Italy.

The extraordinary naturalistic richness of the heterogeneous territory goes hand in hand with the mythical and mysterious character of a land rich in history and culture: from the call of the nymph Leucosia in Castellabate to the beaches where Palinuro left Aeneas, from the ruins of the Greek colonies of Elea and Paestum to the wonderful Certosa of Padula. And everything else you can find in such an unexplored territory.

Unesco World Heritage

Cilento and Vallo di Diano National Park with the archeological sites of Paestum and Velia, and the Certosa di Padula have been recognized as World Heritage by UNESCO.

The World Heritage is our legacy from the past, what we live with today, and what we pass on to future generations. UNESCO seeks to encourage the identification, protection and preservation of cultural and natural heritage around the world considered to be of outstanding value to humanity.

Blue Flag Waters

In 2016, for the eighteenth consecutive year, Castellabate has been awarded, once again, the exclusive eco-label Blue Flag.

The Blue Flag programme is operated under the auspices of the Foundation for Environmental Education and is headquartered in Copenhagen, Denmark. In order to qualify for this prestigious award, a series of stringent environmental, educational, safety-related and access-related criteria must be met and maintained.
